The Reshare Plant was built on the initiative of 8 municipalities that came together to manage textile waste. These municipalities have a common management company, CIRCULUS BERKEL. This company held a tender for a social economy company to manage the plant. It is currently managed by RESHARE, a company linked to the Salvation Army. This plant is where all the textile waste that comes from homes arrives. Here, a first classification is carried out where the parts that can be reused and sold in shops all over the Netherlands are separated. It is also separated for export. Only 5-6% of what is separated is sold locally. Everything that is not sold is sent to the sorting plant for recycling, where they have the Fibersort.
In the Netherlands, The Salvation Army’s ReShare division offers employment to over 300 people who have difficulty entering the regular job market.
